Compact Superconducting Lookup Table Composed of Two-Dimensional Memory Cell Array Reconfigured by External DC Control Currents

We investigated the hardware implementation of an area-efficient superconducting lookup table (LUT) based on a single flux quantum (SFQ) logic by using newly proposed small memory cell. The cell is composed nondestructive read-out (NDRO) flip-flop with input circuits that convert dc current to SFQ pulse signal. datum can be written selected in 2-D array applying both x - and xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">y -directional control currents. data stored reset simultaneously common line. By employing new cell, wiring for reconfiguring resetting drastically simplified compared conventional LUT. implemented tested confirmed correct operation wide bias input-current margins. designed 16-b LUT cells. circuit area number Josephson junctions reduced approximately 24 41%, respectively, those architecture. experimentally obtained reconfiguration 4-b uses cells normalized margin –22 +7%.
